Today was the first time when we had the chance to visit a brick house slum: Nasir Pur Area is an inofficially authorized slum by the government that has improved infrastructure, such as underground sewers and one to two floor brick houses. However, Nasir Pur has still severe troubles with the water supply and with sanitation facilities. For the 5000 inhabitants exists only one community toilet. This toilet is mostly clogged and people are still forced to find a nearby field to defecate in the open. The women of the community complained very openly with all the troubles they have with daily hygiene. Their wish: Private toilets for each home or a community toilet with a “hygiene trained member” card.
